In October 2019, we did a country hop tour and stayed in Brussels, Belgium for a couple of days! We were traveling from Amsterdam and flew on KLM Airlines on a short flight to Brussels. Getting around Brussels was a breeze. We took a taxi to our hotel and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport.
The hotel was well appointed. Check-in was a smooth transition. One of the things I liked was room service was available at this hotel. This is convenient, especially when you are traveling with children. Our room was nice and spacious which is always a plus.
Belgium is known for one of our favorite breakfast foods….waffles! So of course we wanted to try some waffles while visiting. We headed to the Manneken Pis statue (the peeing boy) from our hotel using Uber services. Once there we immediately saw so many options to buy waffles. There were so many selections of toppings to choose from for the waffles. The waffles were made fresh and tasted so good. There were tourists from all over the world visiting.
Everyone wanted to take a picture in front of the statue so that area was extremely crowded but we were able to get a picture. There are actually a lot of replicas in that area. The statue stands about 2 feet tall and is bronze in color. Sometimes the statue is dressed but it was not when we visited.
There is plenty to do with children in Brussels. Check out this website for things to do with kids https://mommypoppins.com/familytravel/25-things-to-do-in-brussels-belgium-with-kids. Make sure you try the ice cream too! After this experience, we headed back to the hotel using Uber. That’s one of the best ways to travel throughout Europe if you don’t want to take public transportation. Overall, the trip was a great experience. I would recommend visiting.
