When it relates to travel hacks for airlines, I recommend a few tips. I highly recommend checking out Scott’s Cheap Flights | Save Up to 90% on Flights (scottscheapflights.com). I signed up for the premium package and get flight deals sent to me all the time via email. I have snagged cheap deals to include error fares for as low as $29. You can also use Google Flights to search for your flights but do not book through Google Flights. Once you find your deal, go to the airline’s webpage to book. Another site that I use to check for flights is Skyscanner. You can download the app or use the website. I prefer the website because it allows me to search for multiple destinations at one time. For example, I will enter my departing airport, and instead of searching for one particular destination, I search for “Can’t decide where”. I also search for an entire month to see all of the deals. This will bring up any travel deals all over the world and it’s quick and easy.
Another travel hack that I recommend is checking airline prices after you’ve booked. This always works with Southwest Airlines. For example, if book a flight with Southwest and check later to see that the flight price has went down, you can get the lower fare and receive the rest in a credit. This is how you build flight credits to be able to book another trip. This may not work with other airlines but it doesn’t hurt to call the airline if you see the price has dropped.
Let’s talk about Spirit Airlines. I know many may not like Spirit because of so many reasons but I’ve flown with them a few times and have not had any issues. I highly recommend booking flights with Spirit at the airport. Have your dates and flight times ready and check the price at the ticket counter in the airport. You will be surprised at how much money you can save. I’ve actually booked three roundtrip tickets from Baltimore to Orlando for $150 total! Yes, you read that right! That’s more money in your pocket to book another trip.
I also recommend signing up to receive flight points on every airline you use. It cost you nothing so you have nothing to lose. Also, check with your credit cards to see what travel deals are available. You would be surprised of the deals your credit cards offers. I also highly recommend checking out The Points Guy – Maximize your travel. This sites gives lots of travel tips.
In conclusion, if you see a deal, grab it! Most airlines will let you cancel within 24 hours. Don’t sleep on deals. You will blink and the deals will be gone. Now go book that trip!
