We visited Tokyo, Japan on our two-week Asia Tour in February. It was cold in February, about 40 degrees, so be mindful of that if you plan to visit during that time. We arrived at Tokyo’s Narita airport on ANA Airlines from Bangkok. There was a long walk from the plane to the immigration line but there was a lot of welcoming art on the walls making the walk very pleasant. We exchanged our currency at the airport. Afterward, we headed to the hotel and took the hotel shuttle bus. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel near the airport, which was less than 10 minutes away. Check-in was a breeze. We arrived early and were still able to check-in without any issues. They even upgraded our room which is always a great perk. There was also a shuttle bus that took you around town for free. You can’t beat that!
Our visit to Tokyo was mainly to visit Disneyland and Disney Sea (the only one in the world). There is a shuttle bus that takes you to Disneyland from the airport. The name of the shuttle bus is the Airport Limousine Bus https://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/. You can buy your tickets online or you can buy your tickets at the airport. We opted to buy our tickets at the airport and did it with no issues. The cost was approximately $22 per person. We did not have to pay for a child if the child was seated in your lap. You have to select the time that you are traveling. Finding the bus stops is simple. Everything is in English so it’s easy to navigate. The bus ride is approximately one hour from the airport. That gave us time for a quick nap before exploring out. The bus drops you off in front of Disneyland and it’s a short walk to the ticket booth. Disneyland was the typical fun and exciting Disneyland. Full of fun and entertainment from the moment you walk in the park. There was a castle there that reminded me of Magic Kingdom in Orlando. One thing I thought was pretty neat and different ways in the restrooms. There were seat holders for small kids inside of the restroom stall to allow parents to use the restroom without your child moving all over the restroom stall and trying to open the door while you are exposed. Another thing that was nice was the hand soap. The hand soap released soap in the shape of Mickey Mouse! So cool!
Our visit to Disney Sea was not that long due to the weather being too cold for any water activities. We were able to walk through to explore but could not enjoy all of the amenities due to the weather. I would recommend visiting this park when the weather is warmer.
We decided to take a taxi over to Tokyo Tower from Disneyland. Taxis in Tokyo are expensive! Tokyo Tower is about 20 minutes from Disneyland. Tokyo Tower is a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-Koen district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. At 332.9 meters, it is the second-tallest structure in Japan. The structure is an Eiffel Tower-inspired lattice tower that is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulations.
When we arrived, we were hungry so we ate at one of the restaurants there. It was pretty empty when we first arrived but patrons began to flow in later. The food was surprisingly delicious. Very tasty! I had a turkey leg and it was full of flavor. The high chairs were not what I was used to at home because they did not allow me to secure my son in the seat. That left me a little uneasy and super cautious. After diner, we went back outside to enjoy the scenery. The tower lights up at night making it a gorgeous site at night. There were vendors outside of the tower selling food and souvenirs. There is a fee to go beyond the first level in the tower that will give you an amazing view of the city. Overall, our trip to Tokyo, Japan was nice. There was so much to explore while visiting. Tokyo was our last stop on our Asia Tour before heading back to the states. We would definitely return and spend more time in the city.
